Professionally, I’m a mathematical biologist with broad interests in biology and mathematics. I develop and analyze mathematical models of infectious disease transmission, population ecology, and immunology and work on some of the more interesting mathematical questions that emerge along the way. My work usually integrates techniques from the fields of dynamical systems, stochastic processes and statistics.
Personally, I’m a total science & nature geek and I love heading outside to watch birds, hike, rock & ice climb, or just explore the nearest remnants of wilderness. I also enjoy discussing math & science education when the opportunity arises.
This blog is a place where I can “think out loud” about a variety of things related to mathematics, science, and nature. The opinions expressed here are of course mine and mine alone, unless otherwise indicated.
